How do I stop the Adobe Creative Cloud app from auto-launching on login? I don't see any option of stopping this, and for some reason it's not in OS X's user login options.
Deactivate Adobe Creative Cloud
- Remove Adobe Creative Cloud. In order to remove Adobe Creative Cloud from your system, you need to download the official uninstaller app for it. It’s provided by Adobe and it can be downloaded here. Clicking the link will begin the download. Once downloaded, you need to extract the zipped file. Make sure that you do not have any Adobe apps open.

erotsppaerotsppaUsing Adobe Creative Cloud on Multiple Computers. With Creative Suite, you had to choose one or the other, or invest in two versions of the software. For individuals or companies that use multiple operating systems, switching to Creative Cloud can save money in more ways than one.

It is loaded by default by
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.AdobeCreativeCloud.plist
. If you run
that will disable it for your user.

To turn off everything Adobe launches at startup on the Mac you need to both disable its launchd jobs and the Adobe Core Sync extension. Intel skull canyon nuc hackintosh free.
For the Adobe Core Sync extension, it is a Finder Sync extension so you can disable it under
System Preferences
→ Extensions
as described in this answer - https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/237585/23876. From what I have seen, you will need to repeat this step after each Adobe Creative Cloud upgrade. For the launchd jobs, read on. Note that the following will also disable Adobe automatic update checking. So you will need to check for updates from inside one of the Adobe apps or explicitly run Adobe Create Cloud.
Adobe actually puts their launchd job definitions in several places and those places change depending on the Adobe version. Building on @Alan Shutko’s answer, the following will disable them everywhere. You can ignore any “Could not find specified service” warnings. After running, reboot to enjoy an Adobe free launch (until you actually run an Adobe product).
As background,
launchctl unload -w
disables each service in the override database. launchd will follow the override database entry even if the job definition (e.g. /Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.AdobeCreativeCloud.plist
) is marked as enabled. The override database is on a per user basis. LaunchDaemon jobs are run as root so we use sudo
to disable them for the root user. From what I have seen so far, Adobe installs do not update the override database, so you shouldn't need to run the commands again after an Adobe install (unless they introduce another job). Please comment if someone does see Adobe touching the override database.
For more information on launchd, the launchd Tutorial is a great overview on
studgeekstudgeeklaunchd
jobs. And LaunchControl is a good tool for working with launchd jobs. LaunchControl is a paid app, but the trial version supports viewing them. Be sure to enable tooltips so you can see the override database values. 1,93522 gold badges2121 silver badges2929 bronze badges
I'm currently using this set of commands—the wildcard answer will be a bit more future-proof if Adobe adds more services, but:
- Apple is shifting to having these services embedded inside app bundles, so new services added by Adobe may not appear in the usual
/Library/Launch*/
paths but still have the same infuriating launch-at-login behavior and - this answer lets you target a single user (if you have multiple users on your machine) for the Creative Cloud UI and sync daemon, should you wish to leave them in place for another person.

Learn to activate or deactivate Adobe applications.
Activation validates your software license to prevent fraud and abuse of Adobe products and services. The activation process sends information to Adobe at various times, such as at download, installation, uninstallation, serialization, launch, and during update checks for Adobe software. Adobe may also use this information to provide you with license renewal options and to help us understand how you use our products.
Note:
Activation stores information about your license in encoded form on the system hard drive of your computer. Application versions prior to Creative Cloud 2019 store this information in a shared Adobe directory. Applications version Creative Cloud 2019 or later store this information in per-user OS secure storage using credential entries whose names start with Adobe at the following locations:
- macOS: Login keychain
- Windows: Credential Manager
Deactivation disconnects an application from a valid user license. Once deactivated, you can reactivate at any time, if you choose. You do not need to uninstall an application from your computer to deactivate it. Uninstalling an application does not necessarily deactivate its license.
Adobe
A single license for Adobe software lets you install an application on two computers—for example, at home and in the office. If you want to install the software on a third computer, first you must deactivate one installation of the application. Here’s how.
Note:
Deactivation removes any information about your license (see above) stored on your computer.
- Make sure your computer is connected to the internet.
- Open the application you want to activate or deactivate.
- Find the app or suite in the table below, and then use the Help menu command provided to activate or deactivate your app.
Note:
You can also deactivate your account from Adobe.com.

Some products require you to enter your serial number before you can start using your product. If your product came with a redemption code, you use it to obtain your serial number.
- For information in finding the serial number, see Find your serial number.
- For information on using a redemption code, see Redemption code help.
Note:
Creative Cloud apps do not require serial numbers. If you are asked to enter a serial number when you start a Creative Cloud app, it is an error. See Troubleshoot when Creative Cloud apps ask for serial number for information to resolve the issue.
You can install and activate your individual app on up to two computers or devices, but you can use it on only one at a time. See On how many computers can I use my subscription or app?
If you want to install your product on a new computer, you need to first deactivate it on one of the computers. Once deactivated, you can then install the product on your new computer.
If the computer on which you installed the product is no longer available, contact us to update the activation information in the system. Once the information is removed, you can install the product on a new computer.

The following types of information may be sent to Adobe during activation:
- Unique IDs (generated by Adobe) specific to your machine and to the license you have purchased for the software. These IDs cannot be used to locate your machine or identify you personally.

The Adobe ID personally identifies you, and links to all information that you have provided to Adobe while creating or using your Adobe account. - Serial numbers associated with the installed product licenses
